That one works!

Although I have to say it's a tad disappointing in that I'd hoped to be able to swap up and down on the thumb scroll wheel (horizontal scrolling) and more importantly speed it up a bit.

@ReemZ:
I made a git version of this package, you can try to install that and see if that fixes your issues.
Be sure to have your user in pludgev group

Sorry, I don't know what else may be wrong.
The package is working fine here

No joy. Nothing in the systray, nothing launched, nothing in SysAct.
Same errors in terminal.

@ReemZ: don't know what that depends on.
Anyway, there was an error in udev rules file; now if your user's in the plugdev group you should be able to launch the program with
solaar
or using the menu icon, without having to insert your pw.
Note that you'll have to run it twice in order to see the program's window, since at first it gets launched in the systray.
Let me know if it works for you too

Normally, 'ldd' works on both libraries and binaries, and sometimes it reveals problems.
Now, 'ldd /usr/bin/solaar' tells me 'not a dynamic executable'.
Indication of a problem?

I get the same output, but then the window appears.

$ kdesu -c solaar
org.kde.kdesu: Daemon not safe (not sgid), not using it.

And after entering the password in kdesu, nothing.

To launch it from terminal you have to use
kdesu -c solaar

Here it works also using the icon in the launcher.

Still no joy:
